French Montana Drops New Music Featuring Miguel, Beanie Sigel, & Jadakiss

  /  09.02.2016

While his album MC4 has been delayed, French Montana is holding fans over with some new music for the holiday weekend. Iggy Azalea’s new boo has unleashed three tracks off the long-awaited album.

The first, “XPlicit,” is a hypnotic Miguel collaboration, which French teased all the way back in 2014. “You don’t gotta lie to me,” sings Miguel. “All I want is real shit.” Meanwhile, Montana raps about standing on couches and “blowing cash until it’s all gone.”

“Have Mercy” samples the Fugees classic “Fu-Gee-La,” which also inspired DJ Khaled and Nas’ “Nas Album Done.” French links up with Beanie Sigel, Jadakiss, and Styles P for a punchline festival.

“Have mercy on me, father,” he sings on the Auto-Tuned hook. “I’ve been robbing / I’ve been stealing.”

According to French, a video for the street banger is also coming soon.

French’s “Fu-Gee-La” love also pops up on “2 Times.” On this cut, Montana rhymes about Ciroc shots in the air, keeping it 100 with his clique, and clashing with titans. Plus, he boasts about his dating philosophies. “If the pussy good,” he raps. “Hit it two times.”

Originally slated for August, MC4 has been pushed back to Oct. 14. According to French, sample clearances were holding it up.

“I want to apologize to my fans that are waiting,” he tweeted. “I want to make sure the album is something special.”

All three songs, along with the Drake-assisted “No Shopping” and “Said N Done” featuring A$AP Rocky, can also be heard on the new Epic Records compilation EPIC LIT.
