Jidenna Performs on 'The Daily Show'

  /  10.15.2016

Long live Jidenna.

The dapper rapper brought his trademark style to “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” this week for two performances, starting with the title track off his forthcoming debut Long Live the Chief.

And he didn’t come alone. Jidenna hit the stage with a DJ, bassist, and drummer, dancing across Trevor Noah’s desk while proclaiming his mission statement: “Long live the chief.”

During his visit, he also spoke about missing President Obama’s birthday party and capped off the show with his upbeat jam “Little Bit More.”

Although his debut album doesn’t have a release date, Jidenna presented it back in June during a listening party in L.A.

“They say that it takes your whole life to write your first album,” he said. “To me, it takes many years. I know I look like an overnight sensation. It feels great to be done and to have something that I believe will change, not just this world or this era, but eras to come.”
