Beyoncé Encourages Voters with TIDAL X: 1015 Speech

Queen Bey gets political.

During last night’s TIDAL X: 1015 benefit concert, where Nicki Minaj dissed Melania Trump, Beyoncé delivered a speech of her own, encouraging young citizens to get involved in the upcoming presidential election.

“I know this year has been extremely hard for us,” she said. “I know sometimes I’ve felt powerless and frustrated. There’s been so much negativity and nonsense. It can be easy to feel hopeless and want to just block the world out but doing nothing right now is not an option, y’all. I know it seems like things are bad, but if you think they can’t get worse, just ask your grandparents.

“Remember, Barack Obama is our president,” she continued. “You made that happen. Young people made that happen. We are not helpless. The fire is still burning. Please go out and vote this November. So many people have died and sacrificed so much for us to have our voice. We have to use it. Get in formation. Use our voices to do something great for our children.”

Her performance was definitely more than just a political public service announcement, however. She also took the stage to dazzle with show-stopping performances of “6 Inch” and “Haunted,” amid fog and bright lights.

Bey remained “Flawless,” even if she got injured in the process. At one point, she ripped one of her earrings off, but the Queen carried on with her performance as if nothing happened. This despite her bleeding earlobe, which she casually wiped off during the “Haunted” set.

As if that wasn’t enough, Queen Bey also delivered a performance of “All Night” to cap the night off.
