Listen to a Re-Released Version of Lil Wayne's '1 Night Only’
Talk about a Throwback Thursday. Going back into his 2006 vault, StreetRunner has released a newly mixed and mastered Lil Wayne track from his Carter III era.
The song, originally meant for C3, carries the classic chipmunk soul sample that Weezy favorited at the time. And the sample, about having one night only, allows Tunechi to rhyme about a certain groupie.
“Now all the hoes hate her, the dudes wanna date her,” he raps. “Her ni**a saw her leave, she deal with him later / Right now she with the greatest / I’m even homie’s favorite / How could he even blame her / She doin’ him a favor.”
This is just the latest track that StreetRunner has released from the vault. Earlier this year, he also provided “That’s Not Luv” and “Heavenly Father,” among others.
“This song was made circa May 2006,” StreetRunner explained via SoundCloud. “Wayne recorded ‘One Night Only’ and ‘RappaPomPom’ the same night within hours of passing him my beat tape. ‘One Night Only’ was on hold for Tha Carter 3 until it eventually leaked.”
