Lil Twist is going behind bars.

On Wednesday (Nov. 30), the Young Money affiliate was sentenced to a year in L.A. County jail for allegedly breaking into former Nickelodeon actor Chris Massey’s apartment, stealing his Rolex, and beating him up in 2014.

The rapper turned himself in in September after failing to show up to a court appearance. He then pled no contest to six charges and struck a plea deal to avoid a potential 10-year sentence, according to TMZ.

As a teenager, Twist entered the game as part of Lil Wayne’s Young Money camp. He quickly befriended stars in the industry, including a close bond with Justin Bieber, but his career would face more controversy than success.

In 2013, the young rapper was arrested for driving under the influence. He had been driving Bieber’s car at the time, further fueling critics who pegged him as a negative influence.

By 2014, Lil Wayne came out in support of Twist after hearing that Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun criticized his prospect. “I heard this bitchass ni**a Scooter talkin’ shit about my little brother,” he said. “Ni**a, this my motherfu**in’ brother, anything you got to say, when you see me say it to my motherfu**in’ face. And if you do happen to say it to my motherfu**in’ face, I ain’t gonna make you eat them words ni**a, I’ma put them bitches on your tombstone…Fu*k you Scooter!”

Twist will have to turn himself in on Feb. 3 and could be released in August with good behavior.
