Nicki Minaj Replaces J.Lo at New Year's Eve Party in Miami

Nicki Minaj is closing out the year with a bang. The rap superstar will host a New Year’s Eve party in Miami in place of Jennifer Lopez.

J.Lo was previously scheduled to perform at E11EVEN’s New Year’s Eve bash, but eventually backed out of what could have been a million-dollar payday. It’s unclear how much Nicki will receive for the gig, but TMZ reports that it is “significantly less.”

Jenny from the Block will reportedly be at her new home in Bel-Air with her kids and family. “She was just so consumed with ‘Shades of Blue,’ her concert, and other obligations, getting on a plane for New Year’s just seemed too much,” said an insider. “She wanted some personal and family time during the holidays.”

Minaj, meanwhile, is said to be hands-on with the event, having full approval of its promo pics. One of the shots they selected is from her birthday vacation, which she posted on Instagram.

Meek Mill, who may or may not be dating Nicki, is going to be in the area as well. He reportedly obtained a six-figure deal to rock Dream Nightclub for New Year’s Eve.

Even outside of the performance, NYE will be huge for Nicki. Her concert special “The Pinkprint Tour: Nicki Minaj Live From Brooklyn” is set to air that same night on BET.
