Readers' Choice: Best Music Videos of 2016

  /  12.22.2016

Okay readers, now let’s get in “Formation.”

After topping Rap-Up’s Readers’ Choice for Best Songs and Best Albums of 2016, Beyoncé rules once again on the Readers’ Choice list for Best Music Videos of the year.

Queen Bey’s ode to New Orleans, “Formation,” lands at the top of the list. The colorful clip with Southern charm made powerful statements about love, pride, and justice ahead of LEMONADE. It now stands as one of Bey’s most dynamic videos ever, which says a lot for the reigning queen of the visual album.

Drake and Rihanna “Work” their way to No. 2. Their romance-fueled sizzler became a dutty wine anthem for 2016 and the tandem videos, with Bad Gal’s see-through ensembles, Drake’s meme-worthy expressions, and their flirtatious dancing, became a visual hit, too.

Kanye West’s “Fade” features Ty Dolla $ign and Post Malone, but it was Teyana Taylor who stole the show in the song’s music video — your pick for No. 3. The hot and steamy visual featured the new mom in all of her sculpted glory, dancing to the hypnotic banger while enchanting viewers with her curves.

Rounding out the top five were The Weeknd’s “False Alarm” at No. 4 with its first-person thriller of a clip and A$AP Mob’s “Yamborghini High,” with all of its neon-colored fun. Check out the rest of your top 20 below and see our editors’ picks here.
