Chance the Rapper famously said his daughter Kensli was “just like Sia” on “Ultralight Beam.” That’s because he hid her identity. But it seems like the new year has brought on a new philosophy as Chano welcomed 2017 with a photo of his baby girl.
“This is the girl who reintroduced me to God,” he wrote on Instagram. “She’s the woman who reminded me how to be a man, and taught me how to love. She is everything I am but much better. I can’t wait for her to one day help the world the way she has helped me.”
But the Chicago rapper didn’t just introduce Kensli to the world with one picture. He also recapped her 2016, sharing a photo that he took with her alongside President Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama.
“Look up Kensli,” he captioned the shot. “Say cheese!”
Apparently, at just about 16 months, Kensli is already quite the musician, proving that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. In another video, the baby girl plays a song on the harmonica while Chance celebrates her skills like a proud dad.
More adorable moments popped up on the ‘Gram. In another video, Chano is playing with Kensli on a bed, while talking about how she’s “been turn’t up all morning.” In the caption, the Chi-town spitter reflects on fatherhood.
“Ima cry,” he captioned the clip. “Dads know you can’t/won’t get this love anywhere else. We are the chosen few, the responsibility is heavy but duty is an honor. Mothers better know it ain’t one thing in this world we can without you. Thank you to her mother, my mother and God for making all things possible. I can’t wait to get back to this.”
