Wale & Lil Wayne Debut 'Running Back' on 'First Take'
Wale and Lil Wayne celebrated their love for rap and sports with a live performance of “Running Back” on ESPN’s “First Take.”
Rocking an Undertaker T-shirt and ripped denim, Folarin debuted the S.H.I.N.E. collaboration with a live band behind him. “I be with killers just coming home,” he raps. “They only hope is me and the Koran / They only wish is for that new chain / But they stuck up in the ankle bracelet.”
Sporting a white jacket over a grey shirt, Tunechi made a surprise appearance mid-set, rapping about lies he’d like to dispel. “I like the finer things,” he raps. “She said I sent her a diamond ring / She said I buy her all kinds of things / She lie about everything / I put her on time out and everything.”
Tunechi and Folarin have both been guests on “First Take.” Wale even recorded the show’s theme song.
Earlier today, Wale dropped another collaboration, “Smile” featuring Phil Ade. Last month, he also unleashed “Heisman Watch,” “Black Is Gold,” “Folarin Like,” and “Groundhog Day.”
S.H.I.N.E., the follow-up to 2015’s The Album About Nothing, is due later this year.
