Preview Lil Wayne's New Song 'Life of Mr. Carter'
Although Tha Carter V remains entangled in a heated legal tug-of-war, snippets of new Lil Wayne tracks are coming to light.
After pharma-mogul Martin Shkreli shared a portion of a new CV song in December, yet another snippet has surfaced online. This one is of a song tentatively titled “Life of Mr. Carter.”
The snippet features muffled sounds, but some lyrics are audible. “These hoes ain’t right / These hoes ain’t loyal,” raps Tunechi. “What’s wrong or right? / And what’s the order?”

While some outlets are reporting that “Life of Mr. Carter” is a cut off Tha Carter V, the truth remains fuzzy. After all, Weezy is reportedly planning to release at least five new projects this year, including Tha Carter V, Dedication 6, Funeral, and Velvet, as well as a joint project titled L.A.T. with Gudda Gudda and HoodyBaby. There’s no official word on whether “Life of Mr. Carter” will appear on any of the aforementioned efforts.
Earlier this month, Birdman said that CV would “definitely” be released. “The situation with me and my son, I’m going to put it all behind us and just let it move forward,” he said. “Wayne is one of the best artists ever to do the game, and I want to see him continue to do what he been doing, and I’m going to support whatever he’s doing.”
However, Wayne — who has distanced himself from his former father figure — is reportedly still going through with his $51 million lawsuit against Cash Money, leaving his future projects, including Tha Carter V, in limbo.
