Exactly one year after Bankroll Fresh died in a shooting outside of an Atlanta recording studio, the late rapper is remembered in the black-and-white video for “M.O.B.”
Billed as his final video, Fresh smokes, performs, hangs with friends, and pours out champagne throughout the clip, which features cameos from 2 Chainz and Jeezy. “From my heart and my soul,” he raps. “They say my heart full of gold.”
The HdotRoss-directed clip begins with a touching note for the late MC. “Long live Bankroll Fresh: Ya Street Execs Family Love & Miss Ya.” At the end, a “Rest in Paradise” message fades to black.
Following Bankroll’s death in March of 2016, 2 Chainz spoke about his late friend. “He was an authentic trap rapper from Atlanta, who touched many lives and lit up every room he went to,” he said. “It was super unfortunate, super unnecessary, super senseless. And it just made me want to step up and use my platform for more positivity.”
Recently, Bankroll’s mother Terisa Price spoke on her son’s memory during an interview with XXL. “[My son] was a good kid and he had a beautiful personality,” she said. “People loved him, loved being around him. And the people that he did come into contact with, they just took to him because he was that kind of person. He had the kind of personality where he’s silly and gonna make you laugh. He was a very giving person.”
Up next, Fresh’s mother is planning to release a posthumous Bankroll album titled In Bank We Trust, set to drop April 24. “We’re gonna have some features on there from different other artists that’s out,” said Price. “But we’re working on it now and we were just in the studio the other day and we’ve got a hot song that’s gonna be a single. I named it ‘A Hell of a Night.’ I named ‘Dirty Game,’ and I named ‘Truth Be Told.’ I named those songs. I think it’s highly anticipated.”
