Watch Beyoncé Make a Surprise Appearance at an L.A. Dance Show

Beyoncé made a surprise appearance at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater on Saturday (March 11) in support of Tina’s Angels, her mother Tina Lawson’s non-profit mentorship program.

She didn’t just attend. The LEMONADE superstar took photos with the dancers backstage at the WACO Theater in Los Angeles, where the show was held.

Mama Tina posted some of those photos on Instagram. “Backstage after the Alvin Ailey dancers performance it was magnificent,” she captioned a group shot. “With my beautiful Tina’s Angels and with a few of the mentors. My very gracious daughter who met the girls and spent some time with them and made their day!”

Prior to taking photos, Queen Bey surprised the dancers onstage. They couldn’t hide their excitement, with one falling to the ground. Others were grateful in their greetings. Meanwhile, Bey shook hands and thanked them for their “beautiful talent” and for being “incredible.”

Bey, who is pregnant with twins, was forced to cancel her headlining gig at Coachella, but she will return next year to headline the festival.

As reported last week, the Carters are also getting ready for a potential move. They are reportedly eyeing the famed Spelling mansion in Los Angeles.
