Joey Bada$$ Freestyles Over Future's 'Mask Off'

  /  03.22.2017

Joey Bada$$ blasts off. After unveiling the All-Amerikkkan Bada$$ tracklisting, Badmon unleashes a rapid-fire freestyle on Los Angeles’ Power 106.

Joey floats over Future’s “Mask Off” instrumental and changes it to “Blast Off,” while bragging about his boundary-breaking skills. “Radios be lackin’ though,” he raps. “You can’t front on talent, so / I’ma kill like every show, and any foe, with any flow.”

Later, he adds a reference to the future over the Future beat. “Listen, I’m twisting the system and missing the recognition,” he adds. “But I see the future clearly, my premonitions is scary.”

What is clear about the future is that Joey is planning to drop his All-Amerikkkan Bada$$ LP next month, with guest appearances from J. Cole, ScHoolboy Q, and Styles P, among others.

Last year, Joey spoke with Rap-Up about his next album’s mission. “I think there’s been something going on in America,” he said. “Especially against the young black youth, the oppressed people of this country. So I think the young generation needs a voice. I do believe I am that voice.”

All-Amerikkkan Bada$$ is due April 7.
