Mike WiLL Made-It Drops 'Ransom 2' Featuring Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, & Future

  /  03.23.2017

The wait is finally over. Almost three years after the original, Mike WiLL Made-It is paying fans back for their patience with Ransom 2.

The super-producer’s 17-track sequel is a star-studded affair, with appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Rae Sremmurd, and Gucci Mane (“Perfect Pint”), Pharrell (“Aries (YuGo)”), Future (“Razzle Dazzle”), and Rihanna (“Nothing Is Promised”).

The album also features Chief Keef (“Come Down”), Lil Yachty (“Hasselhoff”), Big Sean (“On the Come Up”), and 21 Savage, YG, and Migos (“Gucci On My”), along with “W Y O (What You On)” featuring Young Thug, “Y’all Ain’t Ready” with 2 Chainz, and “Faith” with Lil Wayne.

Mike WiLL explained why it took so long to release a follow-up to 2014’s Ransom. “I was supposed to drop Ransom 2 last January, but I was locked in on [Rae Sremmurd’s] SremmLife 2,” he told Beats 1. “I just disregarded Ransom 2 [and] put it to the side…Then Gucci came home. He was gone for three years…He came home and I wanted to make sure his project was super solid, so Ransom 2 was all the way moving down on the priority list.”

Now, he’s ready to shine the spotlight on himself. “I’m a producer first. This producer album is something new, something I’m trying to bring new to the game,” he said. “It’s not safe when Mike WiLL drops, on all levels.”
