New Music: Gucci Mane – ‘Drop Top Wizop Freestyle’

In preparation for his album DropTopWop, Gucci Mane unelashes his “Drop Top Wizop Freestyle,” a stone cold rhyme about wealth and enemies.

“All my artists dipped,” rhymes Guwop over the Murda Beatz production. “Guess they thought that it was over / I knew they’d all jump ship ’cause they was part time soldiers / Gucci Mane LaFlare and I will never roll over / You act like you’s my man but you’s a cold heart cobra / I think these folks forgot that I’m a self-made mogul.”

Throughout the free-flowing track, Zwizzop makes it clear that he could bring back that “old Gucci” at any moment. “Call me Vert Gucci, it’s a lot of ni**as wanna merk Gucci,” he raps. “No Gucci / Not that old Gucci / Not the fat Gucci / Please don’t bring him back.”

“Drop Top Wizop Freestyle” comes in a busy year for Gucci. Last week, he unleashed his “Make Love” music video featuring Nicki Minaj. Shortly before that, he teamed up with Kendrick Lamar and Rae Sremmurd on Mike WiLL Made-It’s “Perfect Pint.”

He’s been busy outside of music too. He is set to star in an independent film with Rick Ross and he recently unveiled the cover for his autobiography, which is due Sept. 19.

This week, Guwop is also kicking off his first headlining tour ever. Featuring Playboi Carti and Dreezy, “The Trap God Tour” runs from April 5 in Boston through May 6 in Austin.
