Watch Khalid Sing 'Location' with a Street Performer

  /  04.19.2017

Khalid found himself in an interesting “Location” recently. While walking around Universal CityWalk Hollywood, the American Teen crooner stumbled upon a street performer named Johnny Martin who was singing a familiar tune.

So he decided to join in, much to the surprise of passersby. “I was walking and I overheard someone singing my song [‘Location’],” Khalid wrote on Instagram. “This is what happened afterwards. S/o to [Johnny Martin] thanks for letting me join in.”

While Martin played guitar, Khalid grabbed the mic as fans filmed the impromptu performance on their camera phones. “I was singing his song and he just came up and jammed with me,” said Martin.

It’s been a busy year for Khalid. After releasing his debut album American Teen in March, “Location” has become a top 20 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was also recently remixed by Lil Wayne and Kehlani.

But that hasn’t stopped Khalid’s grind. This week, he was in the studio with Kelly Rowland, 6LACK, and QUIÑ.

Khalid has promised even more music in 2017. “It’s crazy to think that I got to release a debut album,” he said. “My first album. There’s gonna be many more. There’s gonna be so much new music coming in 2017. It’s looking like a really good year for me.”
