Video: Mac Miller feat. Ty Dolla $ign - 'Cinderella'

  /  04.19.2017

More than seven months after releasing The Divine Feminine, Mac Miller unleashes the music video for his Ty Dolla $ign-assisted “Cinderella” in the form of a trippy 12-minute mini-movie.

Directed by Bo Mirosseni, the cinematic clip begins with a blindfolded Mac entering a vehicle. He gets to a club where Ty Dolla $ign is performing, and winds up inside of a room where performers are dancing. In between these scenes, Miller sees a beautiful young woman played by model Ebonique.

The leading lady looks angelic, especially when she throws on her angel wings. “I thought you was an angel,” raps Miller. “Now you’re yelling to the floor.”

When Mac emerges from this room, he finds himself in a scary scene. Surrounded by dead bodies in the club, he sees Ty Dolla on the ground in a zombie-like state.

Finally, the film closes with Mac rapping inside of an empty room. As confetti falls, the viewer realizes he’s not alone. He’s accompanied by a man wearing a ski mask. Still, Miller doesn’t seem to be in any danger. He buys food from a street vendor and walks into the sunrise for the credits.

Mac offered some words to go along with the mysterious visual. “Wanted to take a moment to thank you for supporting me with doing something different,” he tweeted. “I took a step in a different direction and made something that was very special to me. You all heard me speak from a different perspective and to all of you who embraced that just know you are appreciated.”

In December, he also dropped a music video for the Ariana Grande-assisted “My Favorite Part.” Before that, he unleashed a clip for “Stay” and the Anderson .Paak-assisted “Dang!”
