Stream Jeremih's 'Cinco de MihYo' EP

Fiesta, fiesta. Jeremih turns Cinco de Mayo into Cinco de MihYo with the release of his surprise EP. Recorded in the last 24 hours, the project features five festive tracks that blend Spanish dance music with hip-hop and R&B.

“I was inspired by the holiday and put this project together in the last 24 hours,” Jeremih told HotNewHipHop. “I walked in the studio and my producer Bongo [ByTheWay] was playing some guitar vibes. After a few shots of tequila and some good company, I decided to do something different for my fans.”

That something different comes in the form of Spanglish lyrics — a blend of Spanish and English — and a sound inspired by the South of the Border. Such is clear on songs like “Cinco de Mayo,” “Mi Amor,” and “Papasito.”

In December of 2016, Jeremih teamed up with Chance the Rapper on Merry Xmas Lil Mama. However, this is Jeremih’s first solo project since last year’s Late Nights: Europe.

Cinco de MihYo is also a precursor to Jeremih’s summer album Later That Night, which features the Chris Brown and Big Sean-assisted lead single “I Think of You.”
