New Music: Aminé feat. Missy Elliott & AJ Tracey - 'REDMERCEDES (Remix)'

Aminé invites Missy Elliott and AJ Tracey for a joyride in his “REDMERCEDES” on the remix to his previously-released banger.

It’s a fitting revamp, since the original seemed to borrow from Misdemeanor’s “Work It.” Elliott doesn’t disappoint, with confidence and a nod to “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly).” “You can call me Rick James / I’m rich, bitch,” she raps. “Vroom-vroom-vroom in my two-door / Big body Benz look like a sumo.”

Aminé fills his verse with bars about the Bow Wow challenge. “Hundred on your wrist, so you wanna get loud now / Everything ain’t what you see, somethin’ like Bow Wow.” Later, he praises his new guest star: “Missy like my auntie.”

The rising star thanked his “aunty” for the assist on Twitter.

“REDMERCEDES” initially dropped in March, after Aminé’s “Caroline” went double platinum, while the song’s comical video arrived in April.

Both “Caroline” and “REDMERCEDES” are warmups for the Portland rapper’s forthcoming debut album.
