Nicki Minaj Donates to Help Build Indian Village
Nicki Minaj continues her charitable streak.
The self-proclaimed Generous Queen took to Instagram to reveal that she has been helping a village in India build their infrastructure through her financial donations.
She posted a touching video, which shows fresh water being provided to an area of need. “This is the kind of thing that makes me feel the most proud,” she captioned the clip. “The money I’ve sent to this village in India for the last couple years [via my Pastor Lydia Sloley], has gotten them a Computer Center, a Tailoring Institute, a Reading Program and 2 WATER WELLS. We complain about the most ridiculous little things when some ppl don’t even have clean water.”
Minaj went on to say that fans will likely get a chance to participate in her charitable efforts soon. “Blessings to India,” she added. “Our work is far from done. I’ll tell you guys more about my charity work in the near future in case you’d like to be a part of it. Love.”
Nicki also shared images of women in India that are benefitting from her donations. “I’m so proud of our sisters in India. God is so good,” she wrote. “Their desire was to have water wells & places where they can worship, places where they can learn technology, computers, reading, etc. We’re just getting started. These women are us and we are them!”
Recently, Nicki helped students pay for school, loans, and supplies during an impromptu social media giveaway. The Young Money star is also launching an official charity to help students with loans and tuition.
But first, Nicki is set to open tonight’s Billboard Music Awards at 8 p.m. EST with a star-studded medley featuring guests Lil Wayne, David Guetta, and Jason Derulo.
