New Music: Rita Ora - 'Your Song'

  /  05.25.2017

Rita Ora returns.

Five years after releasing her debut album Ora, the British superstar is back with her new single “Your Song,” an upbeat anthem about turning the page with optimism and love.

“Don’t wanna hear sad songs anymore,” she sings. “I only wanna hear love songs / I found my heart up in this place tonight / Don’t wanna sing mad songs anymore / Only wanna sing your song ’cause your song’s got me feeling like I’m in love.”

Recorded in London, “Your Song” was co-written by Ed Sheeran. “He’s fantastic. He’s really like a normal, down-to-earth guy,” Rita told E! News of her collaborator. “I’m just happy to be making tunes that I like and that I love.”

“Your Song” is already going viral, thanks to a partnership with Snapchat, which allows fans to sing along to her track while wearing sunglasses. Ora has been sharing supporter submissions on her Instagram page and even supermodel Bella Hadid is getting in on the fun.

After signing with Warner Music, the former Roc Nation signee is seemingly ready to drop the album that she’s been plotting for years. Back in 2015, she spoke with Rap-Up about the process.

“I’m approaching it like it’s my first record ’cause I haven’t necessarily released a worldwide record before,” she said. “It really presents the music I love as a fan of music, from my love of punk to hip-hop to R&B to soul.”
