New Music: Jhené Aiko - 'While We're Young'

  /  06.08.2017

Jhené Aiko has forever on her mind with her latest single, “While We’re Young,” a touching ode to her romantic wishes.

Likely dedicated to her boyfriend Big Sean, “While We’re Young” shares emotional pleas for a never-ending love.

“I can’t fight it,” she sings. “I cannot hide it / I am so excited / I finally decided on you / It’s been another perfect day witcha / Wanna lay witcha / Spend the night witcha / Then spend my life witcha / Alright? You heard me right.”

The soothing song is Jhené’s first solo release as a lead artist since November’s “Maniac.” In February, the soulful songstress announced that her next years-in-the-making project is already underway.

“I really like to take my time and make sure that it’s a true representation of me and what I’ve been through,” she said. “It’s way more than music. It’s like an art project that I’ve been working on that I can’t wait to share.”

In the meantime, the PETA advocate has collaborated with a slew of artists, including Cashmere Cat, 6LACK, 2 Chainz, and The Chainsmokers.

Aside from her highly-anticipated solo album, Aiko and Big Sean are working on their second release as the duo TWENTY88, which is expected to drop at some point this year.

Up next, the Teva spokeswoman is scheduled to perform as part of the BET Experience (June 22-25), where she will be joined by Kid Cudi, Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Bryson Tiller, and more.
