Xscape Reunites at BET Awards
Xscape is back. After announcing their reunion earlier this year, Kandi Burruss, Tiny Harris, LaTocha and Tamika Scott linked back up onstage for their first performance in nearly two decades at the BET Awards on Sunday (June 25).
Bringing the ’90s to Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater, the quartet kicked off their set with “Understanding,” a cut off their 1993 debut album, Hummin’ Comin’ at ‘Cha.
From there, the girls continued the flashback with “Who Can I Run To,” an evocative single off 1995’s Off the Hook. Finally, they finished things off with “Just Kickin’ It,” another standout from Hummin’ Comin’ at ‘Cha.
This is a major milestone for Xscape, particularly given that their last album, Traces of My Lipstick, was released in 1998. The group finally reunited, after years of discord, back in February. Up next, they’re set to perform at the Essence Festival on July 2 and star in an upcoming Bravo docu-series.
