New Music: Coldplay feat. Big Sean - 'Miracles (Someone Special)'
Coldplay and Sean Don connect.
Along with their colorful Kaleidoscope EP, which arrives today, the British band rolls out “Miracles (Someone Special),” an inspiring collaboration with Big Sean.
Over a slow-building beat that climaxes with inspirational tones, frontman Chris Martin sings about potential greatness and opportunity.
“You could be someone special,” he sings. “You’ve got fire in your eyes / I see heaven inside you / Go further than we’ve ever gone / In you, I see someone special / You’ve got bright in your brains / You can break through those chains / You’ll go higher than we’ve ever gone.”
Moved by the song’s motivational theme, Big Sean offers his own take on beating the odds. “Prove it to them or you prove it to yourself,” he raps. “But honestly, it’s better if you do it for yourself / Never complacent, ’till we hit the oasis / One life, don’t waste it / Feel my heart racin’ / Success, I taste it / We on the verge of getting every single thing that we deserve.”
In addition to Sean, Coldplay’s five-song Kaleidoscope EP features a “Tokyo Remix” of “Something Just Like This,” their successful collaboration with The Chainsmokers.
