Fans and fellow artists are mourning the death of Chester Bennington, just hours after the Linkin Park lead singer’s body was found in Los Angeles.

Bennington, who gained critical and commercial success as part of Linkin Park, reportedly died by suicide after hanging himself. His fellow Linkin Park bandmate Mike Shinoda was still reeling from the tragic news.

“Shocked and heartbroken, but it’s true,” tweeted Shinoda. “An official statement will come out as soon as we have one.”

Bennington’s impact on music and his vocal prowess were celebrated by his peers including Rihanna, who offered her condolences. “Literally the most impressive talent I’ve ever seen live,” she wrote, along with several crying emojis. “Vocal beast! #RIPChester #LinkinPark.”
