DJ Envy steps out from behind his “Breakfast Club” desk to release “Text Ur Number,” the debut single from his forthcoming album, Just a Kid From Queens.
Featuring Fetty Wap and DJ Sliink, the popular radio show host delivers a high-energy cut that blends rap and electronic sounds. Meanwhile, New Jersey’s Fetty sings about his love for dough.
“On the set, all I want is loot, baby,” he sings. “For a check, watch my ni**as shoot, baby / Disrespect? You a fool, is you crazy? / Flex, finesse, that’s what I’ma do, baby.”
Taking to Instagram, Envy spoke on the inspiration behind the genre-bending track. “When I told [Fetty Wap and DJ Sliink] I wanted my 1st Single to be a joint that I can play at every club I work at…. I needed something for Vegas, Miami, NY, NJ, Houston, VA, Boston, Dubai or Ibiza…or wherever!!! We came up with this banger,” he wrote. “Thank you Every1 for the love and support.”
