New Music: Justin Bieber & BloodPop - 'Friends'

  /  08.17.2017

While “Despacito” remains No. 1 for a 14th straight week, Justin Bieber takes aim at the charts once again. The pop superstar links up with BloodPop for his next hit, “Friends.”

Over the electro-pop hitmaker’s dance floor-ready production, Biebs sings about friendship following a breakup. “Can we still be friends?” he asks. “It doesn’t have to end. And if it ends, can we be friends?”

This is just the latest Bieber and BloodPop collaboration, following their work on 2015’s Purpose. Together, the pair has crafted songs like “Mark My Words,” “I’ll Show You,” “Children,” and “Sorry.”

“Friends” lands shortly after Bieber announced a self-imposed break from the spotlight after canceling his “Purpose World Tour” last month. Meanwhile, Bieber has three songs on the Hot 100, including DJ Khaled’s “I’m the One” (No. 10), “2U” with David Guetta (No. 45), and “Despacito,” which ties for the longest-running No. 1 on the Hot 100.
