DMX Is Sober, But Will Remain in Rehab

After reports of “great progress” in rehab, DMX is choosing to extend his stay in the program.

X’s lawyer, Murray Richman, tells TMZ that X is sober and “back to being human again.” He also claims that the MC, who lost weight due to his recent addiction struggles, has already gained 40 pounds in treatment.

Despite the fact that X is almost done with the New England program, the rapper is asking to stay for another 30 days, according to Richman. He is currently allowed to take day trips to a nearby town with a friend.

The superstar, who reportedly failed four drug tests in August, was on house arrest for tax evasion before entering rehab. Richman claims that they will focus on the legal matter once he’s out.

In July, the Ruff Ryder was arrested for allegedly engaging in a multi-year scheme to conceal $1.7 million in taxes from the Internal Revenue Service. If found guilty on all charges, he could face over 40 years behind bars.
