Azealia Banks Apologizes to Nicki Minaj

  /  09.29.2017

After sparking beef with Cardi B, Azealia Banks is offering apologies to Nicki Minaj.

Taking to Instagram, Banks shared a private conversation that she had with her former rival through DMs. “I want to apologize for whatever catty shit I’ve said to and or about you in the past,” she wrote, before praising Minaj’s “artistry” and “brilliant art mind.”

In series of messages to the YMCMB Queen, Banks said that Minaj deserves a Grammy and a “Russian billionaire” after showing “nothing but strength and perseverance from day one.” She also claimed that her respect for Minaj grew even more after working with her ex, Safaree Samuels.

Finally, Banks promised not to insult her former nemesis again. “You have my word,” she said. “From here on out, I will never say any negative or catty things about you ever again.”

According to the screenshots, Minaj responded with advice. “You’re very talented & very smart,” she wrote back. “Focus on what really matters from now on.”

In December, Banks dedicated a lengthy Facebook post to Minaj, advising her to “slim down a bit (especially in your neck and arms” and to “decrease the butt just a bit” because her “butt makes some really expensive dresses look really cheap.”

The post went on to disparage Nicki’s claims to rap supremacy (“stop calling yourself the queen of rap”), style (“Queens don’t wear spandex, sweety”), fragrance (“smells like car freshener”), and more.

At the time, she also celebrated her work with Safaree: “Don’t start throwing shade cause you miss safaree and know that I’ve actually made a BANGER with him. Stay tuned for my joint with your man. I really think you’re gonna love it!”

More recently, however, Azealia has directed her ire at Cardi B. During a recent Twitter tirade through her secondary account, XOCheapy called Bardi a “poor man’s Nicki.”
