Playboi honors the original Playboy.

Just days after Hugh Hefner’s death, Playboi Carti is paying tribute to the publishing icon who seemingly inspired his stage name.

The “Magnolia” rapper unleashed a not-safe-for-work video that features clips from Playboy‘s past, including videos and still photography. Intermixed with these vintage relics, including X-rated material, are photos of Carti.

So far, only the self-produced instrumental has been released. The song features a conversation between Playboi and a woman, but it ends right before a verse or a chorus is able to kick in.

“tribute to the original playboy – art dealer x Hugh Hefner,” wrote Carti, who recently teased a joint mixtape with Lil Uzi Vert.

Young Carti isn’t the only rapper to honor Hefner following his passing. Lil’ Kim also remembered the late legend with a touching post, in which she revealed that she once rejected a 7-figure offer to pose for Playboy.
