New Music: Maroon 5 feat. A$AP Rocky - 'Whiskey'
Let it burn. After teaming up with SZA on “What Lovers Do,” Maroon 5 enlists A$AP Rocky for “Whiskey,” the latest release from the band’s forthcoming album Red Pill Blues.
The tipsy track finds frontman Adam Levine reflecting on a pivotal romance. “I told her she could have my jacket,” he sings. “Wrapped it tight around her shoulders and I was so young / ‘Til she kissed me like a whiskey.”
Flacko comes through with a liquor-themed verse about his own romantic recollections. “All of that tequila’s a killa,” he raps. “A little vodka break her off something proper / Pop a cork and play spin the bottle every time you kiss me.”
“Whiskey” follows the SZA-assisted “What Lovers Do” off the group’s upcoming album, Red Pill Blues, which is due Nov. 3. Their Kendrick Lamar collaboration “Don’t Wanna Know” and “Cold” featuring Future can be found on the deluxe edition.
