XXXTentacion Terminates Capitol Records Deal

  /  10.26.2017

XXXTentacion is “terminating” his reported multi-million dollar record deal just days after it was announced.

The controversial rapper took to Instagram to announce his decision via Stories. “Terminating my deal with ‘capitol records,'” he wrote. “I am not a ‘signed’ artist and I will not be releasing music for a very long time, I’m tired of this shit.”

Just last week, it was reported that XXX signed a $6 million deal with Capitol Music Group through Caroline, an indie distributor.

Earlier this year, Tentacion claimed he would be taking a break from music, as well, shortly before releasing his debut album, 17. It peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, where it’s currently at No. 16.

The XXL Freshman’s domestic abuse case, where he’s charged with aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, domestic battery by strangulation, and more, starts Dec. 11.

One day after his Capitol deal was publicized, XXX pledged $100,000 to domestic violence prevention programs. It is unclear whether he has donated the money.
