New Music: D∆WN - 'Stopwatch'
D∆WN is right on time. Following a string of loose singles and videos that she’s released all year, Dawn Richard reveals “Stopwatch,” a genre-defying collaboration with Machinedrum.
The track, which comes one year after Redemption, features production that blends pop, soul, and electronic sounds together with island flavors and acoustic guitars. D∆WN’s soothing vocals are layered on top with a powerful statement: “Ain’t got no time to waste any time on you.”
“Stopwatch” arrives through Machinedrum’s IAMSIAM label and is expected to be followed by a new song a month from the electronic producer.
Earlier this month, Dawn also unleashed the provocative and dance-driven “Renegades: A Dance Story,” which was inspired by Janet Jackson, Aaliyah, Madonna, and Missy Elliott. “Much love,” replied Missy. “keep doing ya thang sis!””
