T-Pain Sues Lil Wayne Over 'Carter III' Royalties

  /  11.01.2017

T-Pain is taking Lil Wayne to court.

Although the duo has a long history of collaborations, including their T-Wayne partnership, T-Pain’s Nappy Boy Productions is suing Young Money for services rendered on Tha Carter III.

The company claims that T-Pain produced “Got Money,” which he also appears on, according to TMZ. It also alleges that one of his artists, Young Fyre, produced “How to Hate” on the LP.

According to court documents, Young Money was to pay T-Pain royalties from the project. Now, the company is asking for more than $500,000 in the lawsuit.

This is just the latest lawsuit that involves Lil Wayne. The rapper is suing Cash Money for $51 million. He’s also sued Universal Music Group over profits for Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Tyga. More recently, Wayne threatened to shut Young Money down.

T-Pain is prepping his upcoming album, OBLiViON, for a Nov. 17 release. Meanwhile, Weezy’s anxiously-awaited album Tha Carter V is stuck in limbo while his ongoing legal disputes are worked out in court.
