New Music: Jaden Smith feat. Raury - 'Falcon'

  /  11.15.2017

Jaden Smith is flying high. Just days before dropping his debut album SYRE: A Beautiful Confusion, the burgeoning rapper unleashes “Falcon” featuring Raury.

The song, which transitions through multiple influences, finds Jaden rapping and singing through the shifting instrumental, which goes from frenetic percussion to soothing acoustic guitar strumming.

“I reach for the top and never settle,” raps Jaden. “You say you rock, you a pebble / I rock it real, I’m heavy metal.”

While sirens blare on the track, Jaden makes his stance on law enforcement clear. “There’s cops on the road,” he raps. “Fuck ’em!”

This is just the latest Jaden and Raury collaboration, following “Losing Your Mind” off the Get Down soundtrack. Speaking with Beats 1, Jaden addressed their musical chemistry.

“I feel like we’ve always known about each other and been so appreciative of the work that each other does,” he said. “I feel like one time, we just linked and connected. Ever since then, we knew, like, ‘You’re my guy.'”

This week, Jaden also performed his single “Watch Me” on “The Late Late Show” in anticipation of his debut album, SYRE: A Beautiful Confusion, due Friday (Nov. 17).
