Swizz Beatz brought BX to Harvard.
Dressed in a black Bally suit with “From the Bronx to Harvard” written on the back, the acclaimed producer earned a certificate from the university after participating in their Business School’s Owner/President Management program, according to Page Six.
Beatz, 39, celebrated the accomplishment on Instagram with a throwback picture of his high school graduation. “Today is graduation day,” he wrote. “In life we must keep graduating until the end. When I say we must graduate I’m talking about on all levels not just school. This moment is special to me and my family because many people look up to me and they use my drive to thrive.”
He continued with a message to his former teachers and others. “Today I will become Harvard alumni and although I’m not getting an ‘MBA’ no one can EVER take this accomplishment away from me,” he added. “I was suppose to be gone a long time ago according to some of my old teachers :) This one is for you! Blessings! 🙏🏽 Never shoot people’s dreams down because you don’t have your own!!!!”
Beatz enrolled in the program back in 2014. “This might be one of the happiest days of my life,” he said at the time. “From BX to Harvard.”
Next up, Swizz plans to release a documentary about his journey. “#fromthebronxtoharvard Doc coming Soon,” he teased.
