G-Eazy celebrates the “Summer in December.”

Over moody piano keys and timely scratches, a contemplative Gerald waxes poetic about Los Angeles, the land of opportunity, and temptation. The jazzy track also allows the Bay Area spitter to explain his new album’s delays and more.

“Please pardon my tardiness, I’m tryin’ to put my heart in this,” he raps. “Give this shit my everything, every time I start with this / Hungry for the world, I swear I starve for this / Artists come and go these days it’s easy, they’re not hard to miss / Here today, gone tomorrow, they fade into a dark abyss / Hollywood sold you a dream, like how the fuck you fall for this?”

“Summer in December” is a buzz single off Gerald’s upcoming third album, The Beautiful & Damned, which is also set to feature the Halsey-assisted “Him & I,” and the Cardi B and A$AP Rocky collaboration “No Limit.” Earlier this month, G also dropped “The Plan” and the Zoe Nash-featured title track.

Starting this weekend, G-Eazy will be hosting fan appreciation preview parties, where he is expected to play his double album for fans. The short run starts Nov. 25 in Albuquerque and continues through Dec. 4 in Minnesota.

The Beautiful & Damned is due Dec. 15.
