Video: DJ Premier feat. A$AP Ferg - 'Our Streets'

  /  12.01.2017

DJ Premier and A$AP Ferg take it to “Our Streets” in the video for their soulful collaboration, which blends Preemo’s classic feel with the Trap Lord’s boastful punchlines.

The Tyler Lee-directed visual is an ode to yesteryear in hip-hop, complete with breakdancers flexing skills on sidewalks. Meanwhile, the durag-sporting duo of Premier and Ferg rides through the streets of New York in a throwback BMW.

Payday A&R Adrian Nunez explained the video’s importance to Mass Appeal. “The ‘Our Streets’ video is a perfect embodiment of NYC hip hop, representing the authenticity that Payday Records is all about,” he said. “‘Our Streets’ helped the label pick up right where they left off, and take things further with connecting two generations together on the record. It’s been incredible to work with, in my book, the greatest rap producer of all time, DJ Premier, and a new legend in A$AP Ferg. Their chemistry is great on wax and the video makes that even clearer.”

Before filming the video, Ferg also addressed his dream come true collaboration with the Gang Starr icon. “It’s a dream to be able to work with the legendary DJ Premier on this record,” he said. “Preemo has worked with all the NYC hip-hop icons and greats — Nas, Biggie, Guru, Hov, KRS-One, and The Lox. Just knowing I was working with him pushed me as an MC.”
