New Music: G-Eazy feat. Charlie Puth - 'Sober'

  /  12.07.2017

G-Eazy and Charlie Puth are drinking buddies on “Sober,” their collaboration off The Beautiful & Damned.

Over piano-laden production, Gerald raps about alcohol-blurred evenings and regretful romances with a reference to The Doors. “I’m faded and I got a little sedated,” he admits. “I can’t believe we made it / Every night we celebrate it / I live like Jim Morrison, no telling where I’ll take it.”

In between Eazy’s verses about sex with an ex and the fallout that ensues, Puth relates to the theme on the chorus, which allows his vocals to soar. “Oh, I know that I’ll regret this when I’m sober,” he sings. “But, every shot I’m getting closer, getting closer / Is it true that 80 proof is the reason I’m with you? / Oh, I know that I’ll regret this when it’s over.”

G-Eazy has also revealed the tracklisting for The Beautiful & Damned, a double album carrying 20 songs and guest appearances from Halsey (“Him & I”), Cardi B, A$AP Rocky (“No Limit”), Kehlani (“Crash & Burn”), Anna of the North (“Pick Me Up”), and E-40 & Jay Ant (“Charles Brown”), among others.

The Beautiful & Damned is due Dec. 15. See the full tracklisting below.
