SZA Teams Up with James Franco in 'SNL' Promos
Before making her “Saturday Night Live” debut this weekend, SZA teams up with host James Franco and cast member Kate McKinnon in two promos.
The first finds “The Weekend” singer playing a game of rock-paper-scissors with James and Kate. After Franco quips that SZA — as in scissors — beats McKinnon, the TDE songstress makes it clear: “SZA beats both of y’all!”
In the second ad, Kate’s body is taken over by the holiday spirit, causing her to zig-zag across the stage with joy. Seemingly annoyed, James and SZA simply have to make their exit while smiling.
SZA is capping off a major year. Her debut album Ctrl has been heralded as one of the year’s best and earned her five Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist, Best R&B Performance (“The Weekend”), Best R&B Song (“Supermodel”), Best Urban Contemporary Album (Ctrl), and Best Rap/Sung Performance (“Love Galore” featuring Travis Scott).
“Saturday Night Live” airs Saturday (Dec. 9) on NBC.
