Video: Dave East feat. Nas - 'The Hated'

Fresh off the release of his P2 mixtape, Dave East goes back to Paranoia: A True Story with the cinematic video for his Nas-assisted single, “The Hated.”

Directed by Kid Art, the 10-minute short film is soundtracked by the storytelling track, which introduces characters like Anthony (played by Cominaharr) and Corey (played by Mike Troll).

Blaring sirens open the cinematic piece, followed by a dramatic sequence of events, including a defiant East in handcuffs with cops all around him. From there, the gritty clip brings his bars to life, detailing the violent deterioration of a friendship. It ends on a tender note, with him kissing his daughter, Kairi Chanel.

Yesterday, Dave dropped the sequel to Paranoia: A True Story, P2, which features appearances by Tory Lanez (“Woke Up”), T.I. (“Annoying”), Lloyd Banks (“Violent”), and Marsha Ambrosius (“Grateful”), among others. He also launched his “Paranoia 2 Tour,” which is slated to run through Feb. 3 in Seattle.
