After sparking a dance sensation with his songs “Rover” and “Shoot,” BlocBoy JB gets the ultimate co-sign. The buzzing Memphis rapper links up with Drake on his new single “Look Alive,” which is destined to take his sound global.
The 6 God reps the 901 on his verse. “901 Shelby Drive, look alive look alive,” he raps. “Ni**as came up on this side, now they on the other side.”
The song was released via OVO Sound/Warner Bros., fueling rumors that the 21-year-old MC may have signed with Drake’s label. However, there has been no confirmation. In addition to the song, a video for “Look Alive” has dropped, shot in BlocBoy’s hometown of Memphis.
Earlier this week, Drake was in Miami filming a video for his chart-topping hit “God’s Plan.” While in town, the generous rapper also gave away over $150,000 to students, fans, and a women’s shelter.
