New Music: Tory Lanez - 'B.I.D'

  /  02.15.2018

On the heels of his “Skrt Skrt” video, Tory Lanez busts it down on “B.I.D,” the latest release from his sophomore album Memories Don’t Die.

“Jumped in a ‘what the fuck is that’ / Took a shot of Henny out the bag,” raps Swavey. “Girl, you know it’s real, I ain’t tryna brag / I just wanna take you to the back while you let a ni**a bust it down.”

Speaking with Beats 1, Lanez explained why “B.I.D” is one of his favorites. “I’m excited about this record,” he explained. “It’s one of my favorite records on the project. It’s, to me, the most fun record, the record that kind of makes you just feel good, and it’s a good vibe, so I’m really excited about this.”

During the conversation, Tory also broke down the album’s overall sound. “I wanted to make sure [the album] was super perfect,” he said. “I wanted to make sure that all the things I didn’t do on the first album, I conquered on this album…The album takes you into so many places musically that it’s such a ride and a journey. It’s something that you can tap into at any given time.”

Elsewhere in the interview, he addressed his reconciliation with Drake, a former foe. “I think that was a big moment for music in general,” he said. “We just spoke. We never really had too much conversation. I think now that we spoke more, a lot of the things that he goes through, I go through…probably on a way smaller scale because I’m not at that level in my career where he is, but I think there’s a lot of similarities between us as people that we probably just never thought was there before.”

Memories Don’t Die drops March 2 featuring 50 Cent, Future, Fabolous, NAV, and Wiz Khalifa. It will be followed by an “all Latin” album, according to Lanez.
