JAY-Z & Beyoncé's 'OTR II' Tour Pre-Sale Crashes Ticketmaster; Fans React

JAY-Z and Beyoncé fans are fuming over Ticketmaster’s handling of the “OTR II” tour. The highly-anticipated pre-sale event launched on Wednesday (March 14), but fans were unable to purchase tickets due to Ticketmaster crashing or otherwise not having options available for buyers.

“I’m livid,” said one Twitter user. “I got on @ticketmaster at 9AM with everything set up and it still was giving shitty ticket options or saying tickets unavailable.”

Several others complained that Ticketmaster crashed in the middle of their transaction. “I just had FRONT ROW beyonce tickets in my cart,” said another fan. “I filled in my information and credit card. I was overjoyed. I beat the clock. I clicked complete… and got this error.”

Another fan pointed out that tickets were unavailable and that it might be due to reselling bots, an issue that ticket companies have faced for quite some time now. “How can all the Beyonce tickets be scooped up by 9:01?” she asked. “I thought we were trying to combat bots. @Ticketmaster.”

There were other troubles as well. Prominent Twitter user Matthew Cherry pointed out: “Man the LA Ticketmaster just reset to 9am after counting down to 7am PST. WTF @Ticketmaster???”

The European and United Kingdom leg of JAY-Z and Beyoncé’s “OTR II” tour is set to run from June 6 in Cardiff through July 17 in Nice. Then, they will return to North America from July 25 in Cleveland through Oct. 2 in Vancouver. Today’s pre-sale was for Citi, TIDAL, and BeyHive members.

General tickets go on sale March 19, while some markets in Europe will have to wait until March 23 for sales to begin.
