Safaree Relives Nicki Minaj and Nas' Secret Kiss From 2012

Almost six years after Nicki Minaj kissed Nas in the video for her Chris Brown-assisted “Right By My Side,” Safaree says he can still relive the hurtful memory.

During an episode of the “Easily Offended” podcast, S.B. opened up about the smooch and why it was so painful. “I was there,” he said. “You wanna know what’s so crazy? I didn’t know it happened until the video came out.

“I ain’t gonna lie, ni**a, I was hurt when that shit happened,” he added. “Before that, I used to be able to [say] ‘Great. Give Drake a lap dance, great. Wayne. It was all love.’ That was whatever. But I was there the whole day, I was like, ‘Damn, did that happen when I left…?’ I must have left for like an hour. I think that’s when that scene happened.” Later, he added: “I’m reliving it right now.”

Nicki and Nas’ kiss was part of the video for “Right By My Side,” a single off Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. The visual also features Chris Brown cozied up with the Harajuku Barbie.

Safaree and Nicki eventually parted ways. Then, after being with Meek Mill for some time, Minaj went on to date Nas last year. The two Queens rappers broke up in January.
