XXXTentacion's '?' Debuts at No. 1

  /  03.26.2018

XXX is on top. XXXTentacion scores his first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with his sophomore album ?.

The 20-year-old rapper sold 131,000 equivalent album units (20,000 traditional) in his first week. Streaming played a major role, with 106,000 SEA units, which equates to 159.4 million on-demand audio streams of tracks from the album during opening week, according to Billboard.

His previous album, 2017’s 17, debuted and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 87,000 units (18,000 traditional).

X celebrated his latest chart achievement and promised even more music. “My art is about to get infinitely better,” he wrote on Instagram Stories. “You were warned.”

XXXTentacion’s success comes despite legal woes. Recently, a judge took him off house arrest and allowed him to tour while he awaits trial for aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment, and witness-tampering.

Elsewhere on the chart, Black Panther: The Album climbs 4-3, Logic’s Bobby Tarantino II drops 1-4, Migos’ Culture II jumps 7-5, and Post Malone’s Stoney holds strong at No. 10.
