M.A.C's Aaliyah Collection to Arrive in June

  /  04.02.2018

The wait is almost over. M.A.C Cosmetics has officially announced a release date for their Aaliyah collection.

Inspired by 90s-glam, the highly-anticipated collaboration drops online on June 20 and in North American stores on June 21. Some product and launch dates will vary by market, according to M.A.C’s announcement post.

“Aaliyah lives on in a makeup collection influenced by her groundbreaking work in music and film,” the makeup titan said in a statement.

Aaliyah fans made this possible. First, it started out as a Change.org petition, but eventually became a full-fledged collaboration. The late Selena Quintanilla’s M.A.C collaboration started out the same way.

The company announced the collection back in August. “Aaliyah is truly one in a million — an unstoppable icon whose groundbreaking work in R&B music and film inspires us all,” they said at the time. “Today we join her countless fans in celebrating her with the announcement of the M·A·C Aaliyah collection. You made it happen!”

Aaliyah was also apparently a M.A.C Cosmetics fan. Her brother Rashad Haughton claimed she enjoyed wearing Chestnut brown lip liner and Espresso eyeshadow. Fans can catch a sneak peek of the collection’s lipstick and eye palette below.
