Nicki Minaj steps out. After keeping a low profile while she crafts her long-awaited new album, the rap queen reemerged at Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday (April 4).
On her way into LAX, the Young Money Queen co-signed Birdman’s recent praise as the best female [rapper] ever.” When told of his comments, Minaj stayed mum but raised one of her thumbs in approval.
Baby recently spoke about her greatness and sabbatical with Rap-Up. “Nicki’s been working,” he explained. “That’s all I can say. She’s been working and she’s focused. I always say she’s the best, best female ever in hip-hop, hands down, facts. There’s no getting around it. I just think she’s focusing on her new project.”
Nicki has also celebrated Birdman in the past. “People know that I love Wayne and I have loyalty towards him, but I love Baby too,” she said in 2015. “I’m very close to Baby, and I don’t think people know that.”
Minaj has been keeping a low profile for much of the year. Late last month, she also popped back up in the limelight momentarily in a Mercedes-Benz ad. Otherwise, she’s mostly shut down her social media activity to focus on her long-awaited next album.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the project. It will be Nicki Minaj’s first full-length album since 2014’s The Pinkprint. Last year, she previewed the forthcoming project with a three-pack bundle that included “No Frauds,” “Changed It,” and “Regret in Your Tears.”
