Iggy Azalea Readies 'Surviving the Summer' EP for July

Iggy Azalea fans won’t have to wait much longer for new music.

The Aussie rapper has announced a release date for her long-awaited project Surviving the Summer, which is set to drop July 6 in the form of an EP.

“Since i cant seem to speak about anything without being asked – when is the EP dropping: S.T.S is dropping July 6th,” tweeted Iggy.

According to Iggy, the project was delayed due to a new president at her label Island Records. “My record label, Island records, is changing presidents this month,” she told a fan. “We have to allow time for everyone in the company to re-organise, its a big change! Im really happy to welcome the new Island Records president, cant wait to release this EP with him leading the team!”

So far, Surviving the Summer has spawned the Quavo-assisted single “Savior,” for which a video dropped in February.

Surviving the Summer marks the follow-up to Iggy’s 2014 debut The New Classic, which opened at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and spawned the hits “Fancy” and “Black Widow.”
