Chance the Rapper Brings Out Childish Gambino at Open Mike Chicago

  /  06.12.2018

Chance the Rapper surprised the crowd at his Open Mike Chicago event on Monday (June 11) when he brought out Childish Gambino.

Following an introduction from the hometown MC, the “Atlanta” star emerged to perform his chart-topping smash “This Is America” at Chicago’s Harold Washington Library Center.

“My next guest needs no introduction, so let’s try it,” said Chance.

As Glover emerged, the high school students rushed to the stage with their phones out. He had them dancing and singing along as he recreated moves from the viral music video.

The two have been long rumored to be working on a joint project. While it’s unclear if they plan to release it, they recently collaborated on some “amazing” new tracks.

“We perpetuated that [joint project] rumor for a long time without recording anything,” Chance said earlier this year. “We did link up in Atlanta and record some tracks and…they’re amazing.”
